Directions to The Station House

The Alta Lake Station House is the venue for the Sunday events of the 2009 Readers and Writers Festivial. Here are some directions and a map to help you get there.

Access is on foot or bike via the Valley Trail. One can access the Valley Trail from the Alta Lake Road (5.3 km from the traffic light at Highway 99 and Alpine Way) or from Wayside Park. Parking is available at both access points (see “Parking” on the map).

Please note that, although the house is on Old Mill Lane, you cannot drive down Old Mill Lane from Alta Lake Road (private, blocked railway crossing) so the only access is via the Valley Trail entrance from Alta Lake Road (a short distance north of where Old Mill Lane meets Alta Lake Road).

Come prepared with survival rations, headlamp and sturdy footwear for the 5 to 10 minute slog along the paved trail to the Station House.
